Ingredients to make almond butter bars:
Almond Butter. The base of this recipe is almond butter, but if you don’t have almond butter, any other nut or seed butter will work! The Lovemore crew have tried it with peanut butter also and say it’s still as delicious!
Agave Nectar. You can also use honey or maple syrup if you prefer!
Refined Coconut Oil. Using refined coconut oil is preferred as it doesn’t really have a coconutty taste, so it’s not overpowering.
Blanched Almond Flour. The almond flour is going to give these bars some structure.
Chocolate. You can skip the chocolate step if you want, but it adds the perfect decadent top layer to finish these bars off!
Mix. You’re going to mix all the almond butter ingredients in a bowl until they’re combined.
Transfer. Line a bread pan with parchment paper and transfer the almond butter mixture into the pan. Spread out in an even layer.
Melt. Melt the chocolate in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
Mix again. Now we’re going to mix together the chocolate layer ingredients. Once it’s smooth, pour on top of the almond butter layer.
Chill. Pop these tasty treats in the freezer for an hour, put your feet up and try your best to resist temptation.
Cut and Enjoy! Pull up the parchment paper to remove the bars from the pan. Place on a cutting board and cut in bars or squares. Sprinkle with salt and enjoy!
